What would be the grade of this coin and how much does the nick by Abe's mouth affect that grade? I am still learning and I have not mastered the grading effects of "nicks" yet. I appreciate your opinions and thanks for your help.

I'm around 62/63 for the obverse and 63/64 for the rev, making it overall 63 in my book. Without the big nick, I'd be pretty comfortable calling it 64 RD.

A big part of the grade will come from luster and eye appeal....then subtract off for distractions. Memorial cents also get a 1-2 pt bump over typical wheat grading. Don't know why, but ALL of the major TPG's do it.

I feel the front is better than the Rev. What do you think BadThad? Is one big nick worse or a few little ones to a grading company. I would say front 65 and the back 64...so I think its a strong MS64RD
