Is this variety worth the additional $15.00 or so for ANACS Certification ?

Another nice coin, congrats! I think the reason that you didn't get any responses might be because there wasn't a question or requested comment in your post. Most posts in this forum ask for a desired response to a question or specific opinion about the coin or coins in question (something like: "What do you this of this coin?"). With that said, I didn't see your original post which may have asked either or both of those. If so, please disregard this reply. Regardless, both your coins are beauties though!

I am not sure but I don't think ANACS is as strict as PCGS. What does everyone else think? The other RPM you posted I was suprised got a MS64RD.

PCGS would have never slabbed these with the variety listed on the slab. They will only do that for CPG and RedBook varieties. It is also a known fact that PCGS is the strictest when it comes to grading. PCGS is usually one or two grades lower.

I didnt' know that about the CPG/Redbook varieties. Thanks...I learned something new today. I probably should have figured that out myself but I have never thought about it.

Update-1961-D-1MM-016?-ANACS-RPM-22

First, thank you for the responses. I will try to keep things positive!
I believe a lot of incorrect or negative responses to my posts, are my fault not providing the best possible photos. Because I have the coins I can look at them as much as I want, but when I submit photos; the photos never change.
My equipment is getting better, and hopefully my photos in my posts are improving. Because I'm unfamiliar with the new equipment, some of the photos I've provided are not the best.

I believe lately ANACS has been tougher than in the past. Coins I've resubmitted have been getting lower ANACS grades than previous NGC and PCGS grades. Also all 3 TPG'ers have slabbed previous proof-like BU graded coins into proofs. I have a former PCGS slabbed (early 1980's) 1885 nickel as BU now slabbed as proof (slabbed about 2006).
I see PCGS slabed coins that are RPM's, but not labeled as such. These I will send into ANACS for RPM label, but if coin is broken out sometimes receives a lower grade. NOW I SEND THEM IN THE PCGS holder!

I closing just let me say THANK YOU to all that have tried to help me. If you can't see the variety from my photos, say if it's the photo, or don't see anything but MD or normal coin. I will say the picture on my screen is almost always better than the photo looks on my post. TRY TO KEEP THINGS POSITIVE, I know most coins posted are worth face value. I'd rather spend $15 slabing a coin than wasting 4 gallons of gas a tankfull driving too fast.

ANACS is or will be the only TPG to place a specific lessor known RPM label from the rest of the other TPG's.
