Hi,
I am looking forward to attending the London Coin Fair this weekend for the first time. Has anyone been to this fair and if so would you recommend it? My main collecting interest is greek and roman, but I also collect English and US coins. Also do you know if dealers expect cash or if most will accept credit cards? I would prefer not to carry a large wad of cash around unless I absolutely have to.
Thanks
Jim

I have no idea about cash/card, but !

Go have a look at the ancients board - always happy to have a new person around.

Yeh I'm really looking forward to it actually. I usually buy my coins online either from auctions or dealers so will make a nice change to go to an event like this. I dont often get the chance to meet people with the same hobbie. Will make sure I take plenty of cash along. Got the Pompeii and Herculaneum exhibition just around the corner too wish is nice.

You can also put a deposit down with a dealer to reserve a coin.

about the shows I have attended in the US, in order:
- cash is king
- I have sold coins/PM to one dealer and used that cash at another dealer to purchase
- one dealer that I frequently visit, did take a check when asked one time
- PM dealers might take a credit card, but it is doubtful
