The Dutch Mint did make a special coincard for the 2 euro 2009.
The total mintage of the 2 euro 2009 in coincard is 4000 and will be issued within 2 weeks.
Here you can find some images of the coincard:

Also the 2 euro 'Treaty of Rome' 2007, 2 euro 2011 'Erasmus', 2 euro 2012 '10 years of payment with eurocoins' are packaged in special coincards.

The 'stickman' holding a euro seem quite appropriate (considering the current european financial situation)

Low mintage(with the card), but not what I would call an attractive coin.

Guess that, whenever it comes to euro coins, we will have to live with political comments from the UK. Oh well, has been like that for almost 15 years. What I find a little surprising is that these coincards are issued now, quite a while (or even years) after the coins themselves were issued. I wonder whether there was demand from collectors, or whether the mint decided it could make some extra money ...

The comment was not meant to be political, but considering the lack of creativity in the design, I genuinely thought it was the only interesting thing about the coin. Sorry.

btw... last time I checked the UK was still part of Europe.

Not that I like the "stickman" design, but that was what people liked best in the design vote. (Whether that design was "pushed" in some forums for example ... difficult to tell these days.) As for the UK being part of Europe ... well, I will then refrain from political comments too ;) but in Scandinavia for example you will often hear people talk about going "to Europe" when they travel from, say, Stockholm to Paris.

As for the commemorative €2 coin designs, well, we do have a wide variety of styles. Let me digress a little and point at Slovenia 2013 (first link) and Slovakia 2013 (second link) here ...

(These are designs, not actual coins - but the issued pieces do or will look pretty much like that.) I am sure that collectors who tend to like Austrian designs may not be fond of Finnish designs, and vice versa. Well, there is something for everybody ...
