I also doubt the number from yesterday reflected the orders for the day up to 3pm.
Based on the high expectation of the graders - I am expecting a lot of 70's graded coins.

I agree the freedom label is one of the nicest I've saw would love to have it but the price tag is a little to much for me guess I'll go with west point blue label

Yea at 399 youre not getting any pre order savings on it. I do have my eye out though to see if any of the other places get any of those for the same price as the others

Quote: The 30,000 increase is most likely a reflection of all of the sales made yesterday not just the last 2 hours. Correct...when the counter was first used last year it reported at 3pm the previous days cumulative totals.... Same this time...

If the quality of this set is in range with other West Point's products, I am pretty sure not a lot of returns will occur (especially if the Mint keep its word and keep both coins unique).
The value of the graded PF70 set is a different story since if the quality is good, more 70s set, less price appreciation. Grading a set will cost about $50, if the chance of getting 70s is around 50% then send in 4 sets will cost $200, resulting in 2ea 70s sets. So, total cost: about $800 (buying from the mint & grading cost) vs value (two 70s set worth around $800 + two 69s sets worth around $300) ===> net gain in value $300, deduct 20% for your time and expenses, still %140 NET...... Not bad.

The mint closes its daily books at around 3PM ET and reports sales up to that time each day. It is not a report of the previous day's sales and was not last year. That time is also the cutoff for orders actually getting shipped on any given day. If an order gets marked as shipped after 3PM then it actually ships the next day. I don't see any reason to doubt that there could have been 30,000 sets ordered in the last two or three hours, especially after almost 140,000 in the first day (which included many small orders). It would have only taken a couple of large dealer orders to make this happen. Of course, those orders will not be eligible for FS/ER labels but if the quality is as it is expected by many to be, it is still a worthwhile investment. Remember that the volume dealers pay far less per coin for grading than we do, and far less for any fancy labels that may help them sell the coins. I think that with sales where they were yesterday, there was a lot of incentive for a few more large orders.

Here are graphs of last & this year's sales: The two year's sales arrived at very nearly the same totals in very different ways.

Quote: I don't see any reason to doubt that there could have been 30,000 sets ordered in the last two or three hours, ...and you are entitled to your beliefs but it makes more sense that that was a full day total...not worth arguing about though I should add: From "Coin Update" Quote: The pace of sales subsided for much of the four week ordering window, with the pace picking up during the final days of availability. The last update reflecting the final day of sales showed an increase of 29,615 bringing the overall total to 281,310 units. Quote: 6/5/2013 9,948 243,226 6/6/2013 8,469 251,695 6/7/2013 29,615 281,310
