Quote: I think that with sales where they were yesterday, there was a lot of incentive for a few more large orders. With how well most of the graded sets are preselling I agree that they probably did have incentive to order more.

Quote: Shipping time frames begin in mid-June and may take until late September. Some customers will have several months to cancel their orders and that means October could be the earliest an adjusted, final sales total is available. http://www.coinnews.net/2013/06/07/...t-sales-end/

Quote: The two year's sales arrived at very nearly the same totals in very different ways. Other than the (significant) differential in the spikes at the beginning, those graphs are pretty darn close. I guess the market can sometimes be predictable. Cool stuff, Clair. Thanks for taking the time to put those together.

I had this idea and ordered an additional 50 sets over the two that I ordered early on. I thought, maybe I could be like the rest of the happy flippers, but the margins for resale of these ASE sets is not much, and I do not know if I will take delivery of these or not.

Everything if you have onto them long enough they could see a spike. If you were looking to flip I think you'd be better off using those funds for some of the presale graded 70 sets.

Hollywood dont tease me like that. WP usually makes top notch products but the enhanced ASE may have some troubles as a first time product

I don't need to quick flip them, I kind of figured, if I could make $20 per set, that would be just fine. I did notice people buying graded and flipping on the bay last year, and I'm sure flippers are driving the presales. Sure, I could send the whole lot in for grading as well. The margins seem pretty tight, and it looks like a 70 set you could maybe make $75-100 on and a 69 set you would loose $25-50 on.

For the 2013s theyy presold at 250 I think and were getting between 400-500 though last time I checked theyre recently up to 600 probably from the new set interest. These sets are preselling a little higher but with a first time new eagle I dont expect them to have any problem picking up at least 100 to 200 in value if not more. I could be wrong but I havent seen one yet that hasnt gained value for the 70s for these sets as long as you dont buy it for the market price when theyre resealed

The grading cost for these modern coins are about $15/ea and if you sending in bulk (may be 100+ ==> 50 sets) then you may get a bulk discount also and extra saving from shipping cost. The main obstacle is the eBay/PayPal fee (10%).... so as long as you are able to sell the 69s for $180s or so (break even) then any 70s sets will be your profit after net expenses. You need large capital for this though. There was one guy in Florida (I think he live close to NGC office) and one in midwest that's doing this - they only dealing with ASE. They do however, suppressed the price when flooding the market (continuously listing same coins in 2-3 days interval for months).

Thats really the biggest problem with doing something like that. You have to be willing to take months to sell them if not years. If you list them all at once like a lot of people did you drive the price down. Nothing makes you want to pay less than listed price than seeing an add with 30 available

It almost makes you think that having a raw set could be more valuable....just a thought

Quote: It almost makes you think that having a raw set could be more valuable....just a thought If you send your coins in for grading and get back 68's they can easily become raw sets again with the aid of some snips... No reason for a raw set to have a premium over a graded set
