Is-This-Errorthis is a 1916 half penny not sure if this is a error or not, see the blue on it

It's pretty hard to tell as the picture is not very clear.

Since it's blue, I'd be thinking along the lines that ink has been spilt on it at some stage. (Lots of different types of ink have been around since 1916).

Please excuse the following digression.

Ink well, ink well,
soiling the halfpennies,
you and your blue ink stains,
will probably go far!

Hi Tim,

Not an error, case of poor storage and environmental damage I reckon. Copper coins should be lustrous or brown-dark brown/black. Blue or Green is most likely verdigris.
