Okay, this might be a surprise, but will it circulate? Is this finally the first Australian coloured circulating coin? If it is, this may make our whole error game a little more interesting...but think of all those people that hoard all the picture coins.

Depends on how many they mint I suppose - if it's only about 5 million, I can't see them remaining in circulation for very long at all...
P.S. If anyone ends up with a spare bank bag, let me know :)

There's only going to be 2 million of them, so expect them to vanish from circulation real fast!

good luck getting them in change and not paying a premium for them off ebay or somewhere else.

Yeah, getting one won't be fun. And no acetone on these either so they'll need to be finger-print free as well.

Excellent image Goatieman. I love the way they replaced the dot with the C privy/mintmark

I'd love to see how they mint them & how different the process is to a normal $2 coin. The C mintmark looks great. They have done a 10 out of 10 job...seriously. I can't fault it.

Very nice design. The coat of paint looks quite thin though (at least from that image).

The mint said that the paint application is a trade secret, so good luck learning about it goatieman.

I would think that they will have to disclose it in the annual report.

I note the mintage is "unlimited" on UNC RAM card. Now how do you get the circulated ones, as I do not expect to see them in change either?

I think you might be able to buy some from the RAM shop (via phone) tomorrow but I don't about price or time.
