I need some help on this one. Is this a die crack or just damage? The mark is definitely raised. Thanks for looking!

Curious.

Not quite sure about this one.
My GUESS is that the coin, after minting, has been struck by something hard, that has a groove in it.
The metal seems to be compressed either side of the ridge.

Nevertheless, I will confer to anyone who has a better explanation that mine.

I wish you could see this one in hand! I find it very curious and you can definitly feel that raise. It's almost like a tiny copper weld.

Better pics would help but in my opinion something struck the coin and pushed the metal. If you look above the part in question you will see lighter metal.

I will attempt to take a few better pics tonight Jayman. I thought the same as you about maybe pushed metal where you talk about seeing the lighter metal but when looking at it through my 22x magnification, I don't see any lighter metal. I'm thinking that was an effect of the camera. Either way, just thought I would put it out here. Thanks!

Would it be possible to photograph it from a shallow oblique angle?
