This Large Date, Copper, 1982-D LMC has me wondering if this is RPM or Machine Doubling or something else. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to tell. I know to look for notches and split serifs and rounded, not flat doubled area. However, I am not sure when I have found one of these features. There could be a notch or split on the upper serif - is it? I can't really see anything on the lower serif.
I have not started to try overlays yet as I think that I have learned that this other question comes first.
Thanks for any help.
Pete

Looks like a normal cent. The die state is in the later days for the die that made your coin. You can see die flow lines through the devices. But otherwise normal.
