This date has eluded me for some time now. I let one slip through my hands a few years ago before people figured out how under rated they are. Now the prices shot through the roof, more are on the market! Funny how that works. Anyway, I don't think I did to bad on this one. Book value goes out the door on this coin. Grade and retail value opinions please! I've looked at ebay, I just wanted to know what people that collect Seated quarters would actually give for this coin, assuming they know the market for this coin right now. Thanks!

I'm not an expert on these, but I would grade it F15 and think it would retail for about $400. I do know it would look good in my type set.

very original
great eye appeal

I will say F12 - LIBERTY is not full and that holds it down ever so slightly I believe

I would certainly put that with my other SLQs
wonderful looking coin JP, congrats on the find

I have just started getting into these and would go F12 on this one as well.
The drapery seems better than F12 but the reverse and liberty lock it in.
Most importantly a nice original coin and a tough New Orleans date

I agree with F-12 also. Nice to get confirmation from others. This was a rare online purchase for me, so I hope it looks original in hand and there are no surprises.

Well as I feared, the coin Is NOT origonal. Has that jewelry cloth rubbed look, but is retoning a little. So, my debate now is to keep or return. I paid $170. Irritating because picture of the coin looks nothing like the coin in hand as far as surface and color. Sooooo, this is the reason I don't buy online.

jobone, are you saying once you got in hand that you can see that it was cleaned? if so, can you post new pics to see how bad it is?

Here are images that better depict the color. What you can't see are the faint lines visible in the sunlight.

Wow, it is clearly no longer original.
Huge difference, and deceptive, since he/she knew what it was supposed to look like.
shame on the seller.

. looks like it intentionally masked with lighting and angle. however, they do look light enough that they may tone over time. it still is a very nice coin and I would love to have one in my type set that looks this good.

I agree. Shame on the seller. key-date-rare-coins was the seller. Yes I could have sent it back, but I guess I'll keep it. It's just disappointing. Not sure how to handle the feedback on this one.
