Magdalen Island Token ICCS AU-50, "How Did I Do?"

Earlier today I attended a local show which has never had much in the way of Canadian, which is why I was surprised to find the highest graded Magdalen Island token I had ever seen - and ICCS certified at that. Although I'm not a token collector this piece holds special interest as I'm a direct descendant of its creator, Sir Isaac Coffin. After serving in the Royal Navy during the American Revolution, Coffin was given the Magdalen Islands as a reward for his loyalty. Operating under the mistaken belief that he had the right to coin money, he ordered the creation of this token which would circulate on the islands as part of a feudal barony. The crown was not pleased with this overstepping of authority and took back the islands which eventually became part of Quebec.

According to the census there are three circulation strikes finer, one in AU-55 and two in MS-60. The asking price was $1350 which was negotiated down to $1100. What are your thoughts on the coin and the price? Thanks for reading.
