Does anyone know if the Denver Mint Store sells ATB Quarter rolls and ATB 5 ouncers? What about President rolls and Native American rolls? I'm heading to Denver in a few weeks and plan on visiting. Thanks.

I was there last Monday. Brand new gift shop. I can't really answer the question about bags and rolls, since I wasn't after those. Given how small the actual sales counter is, I'll wager a guess they carry no bags of coins. Neither of the Mint's gift shops in Denver or Philly have ever stocked the 5oz. collector coin, but ironically, the kiosk at Union Station and Mint headquarters in Washington, DC does.

Vending machine dispenses current-issue ATB Quarters, bring $1 to $20 notes and your own coin tubes (or buy some there). They have the Mint-wrapper Dollar coins rolls ($32.95) An interesting new addition is a vending machine dispensing a mix of past-issue ATB Quarters. I got $5 worth. Most of them were Hawaii, Denali and El Yunque (that day). The Denver shop has had 5-oz. coins in the past, ironically at higher-than-Mint prices and in PCGS slabs, but not "direct Mint issue" coins.

Fed the "past ATB issues" machine another $5 note today and got four Acadia-D Quarters, four El Yunque-D and two Chaco Culture-D. Nice to get BU low mintage ATB's for face value!

Will they let you take pictures inside the store? I would love to see their set-up.

I am in need of some answers. My husband was looking forward to visiting the Denver Mint next week, but when I went on the make reservations, all tours were full. Does anyone know if they still do standby tours? Also, can you visit the gift shop if you do not take the tour? Thanks for your help!

Thats the strangest thing I've heard in quite a while. They dont carry a product that is produced by the mint but will send it out to be graded and carry it, doesn't make sense to me

Re: the tours @ Denver Mint. It is kind of a hassle setting up for the tour, visitors can't bring anything larger than a wallet and cellphones are cameras are completely verboten. No bags of any kind, leave those in the car or at the hotel. They used to have a separate line for walk ups because not everyone that reserves a tour shows up. They might still have this option, doesn't hurt to go early (~8am) and asking. The tour itself is rather short, it's not like the long hallway at Philly that's self-guided. The reason why the security measures are strict (think TSA at the airport) is that Denver is a Federal depository for gold bullion after West Point and Fort Knox. The gift shop is on the premises with a separate entrance that does not require the security measures. Note that the tours and the Mint gift shop are only open 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, so if you come into town for a long weekend you may be out of luck, so be aware.
