Found this State Quarter a few minutes ago.It has some raised areas on the reverse.What could had caused those?

Looks like die scratches to cover a clash. Even though that area is not what appears to be in the field, it is part of the outside of the die. So any polishing would affect that area of the field. Looks like it was roughed up in that area on the die.
