I found the following nickel around 100 boxes ago. It fits exactly to JNC-87P-1 exactly. There is the main Cud under the bust and a separate small rim Cud from the left tip of the bust over to the I in IN.

Then today, I found this one. Note that the main Cud is identical. The secondary rim Cud, I believe, is JUST forming in this specimen. Note there is a small die crack going from the tip of the bust to the rim in both examples. That is well formed in this second coin.

From these two coins, I guess the larger Cud formed first, then the rim Cud. Pretty cool to get this pair for 10 cents. Not sure there would be much interest in this 'discovery', but any thoughts are appreciated.
Rest in Peace

The Cud is covering the FS designer initials but I don't know if that will give it any extra premium. If you do a quick search on ebay you will see this area is prone to die breaks in many different years. I would guess your coins would bring $10-$20 or more a piece on ebay. There was a dramatic Cud error that only sold for $22 http://www.ebay.com/itm/JB-RFM-3420...047675.l2557 but the buyer has listed it now and it is selling for $29 with 5 days to go. Sometimes a few better pictures can make a big difference on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NICKEL-CUD-...em3382f09c31

I have a severe die clash with multiple Cuds Jefferson nickel that I bought on ebay a few months back. It was the strongest clash I had seen until after I bought it. I showed it to Jon Sullivan at the Central States coin show. He told me about the 2000-P Clashed Nickel that sold on Heritage. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...=11646#Photo That clash puts mine to shame but it don't have the killer Cuds my coin has.

Here is a link to the nickel I bought several month back.

"It fits exactly to JNC-87P-1 exactly."

Where do you look these up? Is there a book or is it a website?

Thanks for the help.

7TF: From "The Cud book" by Thurman and Margolis. The book is hard to find.

The supplement is online for free. http://www.keysquality.com/download...pplement.pdf

That is the coolest Jefferson error I've ever seen. I've pulled 4 Cuds and 2 split dies from circulation - I can only dream of finding something like that.
