Heard from RCM that they only take on new dealer who will purchase more than 1 million. But, RCM has a couple of large wholesalers and they deal with the smaller dealers throughout North America. Anybody knows how to become such kind of small dealer and get some discount? Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated !

I doubt you need to spend $1 Million to become a coin dealer. Deal_With_Singh is a student and he managed to become a dealer.
And how about all the small coin/stamp shops across Canada? A million dollar in coins is worth more than the shop!

Quote: How does opening a post office help with coin dealing? is this a canadian thing? Canada Post has become a significant reseller of RCM coins in recent years. Essentially every post office and post outlet (there are 6600) in the country is a coin 'dealer' and are able to buy coins at a discount. The catch is, individual POs order from the Canada Post Philatelic Centre who buy directly from the Mint. A POs franchise owner would sort of be a dealer but would not buy directly from the Mint. In Canada, we like to have our crown corporations support each other so that money losers like the Postal Service can be propped up by profitable government 'businesses' like the Mint all the while having them compete with private organizations like real coin dealers. It's the least efficient way of operating that the government has come up with....so far.
