What does "buyer could not complete transaction" mean? I thought that when someone bid on an item and won that it was a done deal and they had to purchase that item. I have seen this in a couple posts here and decided to ask what it means exactly? Does it mean that they just didn't pay or is that something different?

I believe it means they backed out and didn't pay. Pretty sure they got a Neg Feedback on that one too. However for the seller they have an option of either relisting or offering a 2nd chance offer to the next highest bidder.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

There is an option for the buyer and seller to agree not to complete a transaction. This does not give either the seller or buyer a black mark. It is simply a nice way to close the transaction so that the seller can get their final fees back and relist the item and the buyer can move on.

There seems to be another option here on the French or German ebay

I have several times won goldcoins way below melt because there was no reserve set and no intrest and no shillbidder
After three emails by way of ebay and requesting mutual identity and adress information I still did not have a bankaccount
So I simply could NOT pay.( Banktransfer is the only payment many will accept because it costs only half a euro for the buyer )

I then complained to ebay and in each case they advised me as the buyer to officially BREAK the contract myself so as to be legally squared , which I refused of course . I wanted that coin .They prefer the buyer to break the contract after they have established the vendor is not responding and then nobody gets a negative and the problem is solved for ebay .

I never did it however. Sooner or later the seller has an innocent hand answering the thelephone passing it on to him and me on the other end of the line speaking 4 languages .
With a big French shop it took three times before the owner understood that he was not going to get away with it . Sofar
they all understood .
