I don't go looking for LRB but sometimes get drawn in by a coin. I found the portrait on this coin to have been well executed and was like a fish on a hook and couldn't walk away from it. The coin still has some uncleaned areas which I can most certainly live with. The reverse suffers slightly with the face of the emperor not having been struck fully. Other than that the coin is in good shape and hasn't seen too much wear.
The problem is that every time I buy one of these I am spending money out of my big Greek silver savings....
I am not super familiar with Crispus coins, so I must ask you, is this coin "suburb" condition for this type? It looks really nice. Is the coin rarer than usual. Martin I know you have an eye for the magnificent, and this coin fits nicely. As far as Crispus is concerned this coin looks alot nicer then many I have seen both online and in person.
This coin is better than average and would match anything you can see on VCoins at the moment. The type isn't particularly scarce but they become scarcer at this decent grade. I find the style on this more appealing than most of the other examples I have seen recently.
