Hello guys, I made this topic to tell you about an eBayer who has many good feedbacks, but treated me very badly and racistly. First of all, as coin collectors, we normally should be more well-knowing about other countries and nations. Ill put this straight, I am a Muslim from the Middle East, and I am a coin collector since I was a little kid. Most people never respect me in foreign countries, and they see me as inhumane, although I do respect every human that I mean, and I would never mean no harm for anyone on purpose. I am used to disrespectful people, but not used to them within the coin community, because the coin community is expected to have a wide world knowledge. I am writing this topic to warn people about a seller on ebay named miguelcoins. It started like this, I was looking at some of his coins that I really liked and I sent him a message asking him about the estimated delivery to my country. He replied with: " Hit the bricks IDIOT! - miguelcoins " And then I replied that I am going to report him. He replied back again saying: " bye sand niger! - miguelcoins " I feel really offended knowing such people exist in the coin community. It is strange how he got lots and lots of positive feedback. I am sure collectors wouldn't have given him positive feedback if they knew how racist he was. It is really a disgrace to know such people are coin collectors. Please leave a comment stating your opinion about this.

That is really too bad, and I hate how there are so many people like that in our world . Hopefully it doesn't dampen your coin spirits. Think of it this way, and person who acts like that does not deserve to get your business anyways. Don't feel alone though, looking at his feedback, the one negative was left by an Italian buyer saying how unprofessional the seller is. The reply is "I DO NOT SHIP TO ITALY: THIS PIZZA MAKER IS A HATER! ebay SITE PERFERENCE FAILER." Now that just makes me personally mad at him. (plus, who doesn't like pizza )

Sorry that happened to you. There's a lot of racism in the US. I personally don't sell outside the US because I don't want to deal with customs paperwork and some unreliable foreign postal systems. If they didn't want to sell to you, they could have been a lot more diplomatic, and a lot less rude. ebay probably has some policy against language, but like their other policies, enforce it weakly.

I am horribly sorry about this. I would forward his reply to ebay and then I would put it out of your mind. His life is less rich because of his attitude and beliefs. He is hurting himself most of all. As Dale Carnegie says: Quote: Let's fill our minds with thoughts of peace, courage, health, and hope, for "our life is what our thoughts make it."
Let's never try to get even with our enemies, because if we do we will hurt ourselves far more than we hurt them. Let's do as General Eisenhower does: let's never waste a minute thinking about people we don't like.

Thanks you fellow collectors for your kind words. I am really happy to see inspiring people like you in this community. It's becoming kind of hard to find sellers who sell coins for reasonable price with worldwide shipping. One of the best sellers is joecoins1 on ebay. Bought from him several times and I am really happy. Very fast delivery 4-7 days to any country. If any of you guys know of a similar seller, please feel free to let me know about him. Thanks again guys I really appreciate your time.

The deafening silence of the peace loving Muslims precedes you.
Do not let knee jerks deter you from the hobby.

It is a shame, but coin collectors are like any other sector in society and that means there will be some bad apples. Those posting before me have said it well.
I know it is frustrating when there's something I want from a seller in the US and they won't ship to Canada, but I know there's nothing I can do about it and it is them losing business. Hang in there.
All the best with the hobby!

My advice would be after the first email like that to just add them to your blocked list so their items dont show up and move on. Theres just bigger things to worry about and far better things in life to enjoy then to let what a jerk says to you in an ebay email bother you. Policing peoples actions on there would be more than a full time job, posting on the internet and email makes people extra brazen not having to say the things to the other persons face. Most people would at least politely respond they dont ship to your country but theres always going to be bad apples

That's really too bad that it happened. The comments are not really particularly severe though. I grew up in California neighborhoods and schools where the blacks, hispanics, whites, and asians all had their own groups and nobody treated anybody else very well. You start to realize they are just words and are meaningless. The fact that the seller also made absurd comments towards an Italian "pizza maker" shows that he isn't really taking himself seriously. Also, I'm guessing his name is, in fact, Miguel. There are very few people named Miguel who are not Hispanic-(latin/south American). Many of whom don't consider themselves American even if they are citizens.
Also, trust me, I've had one seller say much worse things to me. I won't go into details, but I will say that the individual, who has a wive and kids mind you, made no less than 8 different personal emails threats against me that included detailed accounts of homicide and sexual assault against me and my family.

Thank you guys for your kind words. I am starting to think like you that it is normal, meaningless words. Good thing is that my country is a cosmopolitan country (international). We have people living with us from all around the world, and I have lived with many nationalities. We are all respectful to each other since we actually lived with each other with no problems. To prove that, my closest neighbor is man who is a local from Fiji island. I was just stating this because I was never used to it within the coin community, it is my first time ever.

Quote: I was just stating this because I was never used to it within the coin community, it is my first time ever. You wont get it from the overwhelming majority of people, unfortunately the internet brings out the worst in people with what they feel comfortable saying. Then just being words on a page it makes it impossible to tell how serious the other person was being a lot of the time. He may have just been trying to get a reaction out of you for his own amusement like some people do on the internet, whatever his intentions were its clear hes not worth the time.
