Doesn't look too obvious to me. The motra set is usually a lot more noticeable. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Die deterioration. Not Plating failure(die).

Interesting, nickelsguy. So are you saying that all that extra metal on the date, etc, is Die Deterioration? There are so many nickels from the last 12 or 13 years with that effect I just figured it had to be a plating error of some sort, leaving all sorts of goopy bits of metal around the inscription.
