here is only an image of the "D" in the motto. in the interest of saving my time and yours, I am posting only this image for now. if anyone thinks this is anything other than Machine Doubling - then I will post more images. clearly this does not match anything at coppercoins site. there seems to be minor notching on the G, WE, R, somethins below the upper curve on the S, and something above the horizontal line of the 2. I havent been able to dismess this coin yet. your opinions are appreciated.

That D reminds me of the Master Die Doubling on the 1972. Not positive with no other letters to look at.

That is master die doubling. Quite common. Very frustrating.

Happened on dies from all three mints in a strong percentage. They are doubled dies, master die doubling but very common.

thank you for the responses. in all the time I have been searching, and have read posts about the master hub doubling - this is the first "72" that I have seen it on. I have actually found 2 "good" 72 DD (1 an 003, and 1 008). as common as all the reply's suggest that the master hub doubling is - this is the first I have actually found. (at least the first I have actually noticed). again - thanks. (any premium value at all?)

Worth about as much as it says on the reverse, if you want $$$. Priceless if you keep it as an example of what it looks like so you can compare other 1972 cents you come across. I have a few master die doubling cents that I use for reference.
