Another recent pick up. 1804 Half Cent, crosslet 4,with Stems. With a 10x loupe I see what appears to be the spiked chin variety. close ups provided.

Help with grade (maybe f/vf?) and see if you see what my eyes see on the chin.
As always, Thank you for any help from the experts here.

Definitely a Spiked Chin variety! The "cigar" in Miss Liberty's mouth, the spike from the chin (a little obscured on your coin) and the marks from the screw that damaged the die near the 3 o'clock obverse position are dead give-a-ways!

Nice!

My 1804 Spiked Chin for comparison:

That's affirmative!

Although I did not know about the "cigar"...

1804-Half-Cent,-Spiked-Chin-Or-Not?grade?

"Ron Guth: The 1804 Spiked Chin Half Cent is an interesting variety caused when damage occured to an obverse die, resulting in a sharp, spike-like projection jutting out from Liberty's chin. The Spiked Chin itself is considered a die state, because examples from the same obverse die are known without the damage. However, the Spiked Chin obverse was used in combination with more than one reverse, so it is also known as a die variety. The Spiked Chin Half Cent is fairly common, but it commands a premium because of its listing as a major variety in most (if not all) price catalogs."

Nice VF spiked chin!
I see light corrosion. Not sure if it has been cleaned or conserved from the pics. Still, an attractive coin:)!

Thanks for all the help thus far. It does not appear cleaned to me, although I do agree with the comments on slight corrosion and being granular.

It does look a lot nicer in hand, these Cannon digital cameras pick up everything!lol

spiked chin screw marks or die striation marks make it positive. Not near my reference books now so can't help on th edie variety Cohen and Manley numbers yet. Love the coin and I agree it's a VF20 possible details due to cleaning and small staple scratch across face, and rim damage.
