Just bought my first gold coin...Friend is in the jewelry business,,,bought her at a good price...Need to know if the pics' throw any red flags....Weighs in at 16.7g....Can get my money back if needed,,or I would not have jumped....Coin is beautiful....there is on mark on the princess's cheek and another scuff in one of the fields....Looks like strike is rather weak below liberty...Similar to a Morgan dollar...Anyone have thoughts about value?Question about authenticity?....Possible grade.....No experience here, but maybe MS-62,,,63?No dark spots but looks like a smudge on the left obverse from handling....THANK YOU ALL

This is the only Indian I have. I think it's the most beautiful US gold coin of all.The 1907 rims are tall compared to the later mintage, and I like the empty space in front the eagle.

Yours is nicer than mine. Looks like there's wear on the hair strands -AU? I think there's a little bit of premium over common gold but the scratch detracts. I still stand by what I said earlier though...this is an extraordinarily beautiful coin...you'll be waiting a while before you find another 1907 this nice for a good price...

From what I can make out, I don't see anything that would lead me to believe it's a fake. Weight looks correct. The best struck examples that I have been looking at do have a little bit more hair detail but not too much more. The obverse photo is little blurry making grading a little trickier but I believe there is enough friction in the fields, face, and wing to keep out of MS. I think it is either AU-55 or 58 and if sent to a TPG, it may very well come back as a 58. A graded AU-58 is probably worth somewhere around a grand. A fine purchase!

based on the pics I have to go with AU58. obverse appears to show enough wear to keep it out of MS. I'm not seeing any on the reverse. it could be due to focus so if you can get a better pic of the obv please repost

photos aren't sharp enough to tell if the coin is genuine. If it is, grade would be AU-58.

Thanks for the replies....Yes that is a nasty paper cut,, without that, she is a super coin....Did not realize how beautiful gold coins are....Hope this doesn't start something...Ha Ha......Having the exact weight and super sharp details I'm confident its authentic.....Going to coin shop today for another opinion.....At $700...Don't feel hurt...This issue shows 239k mintage....much less than the 1907 classic head....Not sure about TPG with the paper cut though...........
