American Numismatic Association President Tom Hallenbeck will announce the winners of the 2013-15 Board of Governors election during a live online broadcast at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. The broadcast will be available at Money.org/Elections and on the ANA's YouTube channel at YouTube.com/AmericanNumismatic. A press release announcing the newly elected board members will be issued to the ANA membership and the media immediately following the broadcast. Results will be posted on Money.org as well as on the ANA's Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn accounts. The election was conducted by Survey & Ballot Systems Inc., headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minn. For the first time ever, ANA members were given the option of voting online or with a traditional mail-in ballot.

Laura Sperber was on the ballot, I anticipate her shaking things up a bit with her usual rabble-rousing self

Quote: Laura Sperber was on the ballot, I anticipate her shaking things up a bit with her usual rabble-rousing self Lets hope she wins, I was a big supporter - going after "coin doctors" was good for all collectors. I have a friend or two also running for board positions, and am looking forward to seeing the results. The ANA really needs to step up it's member base and online presence. Just look at what Mom & Dad have created here at CCF - with help of the CCF members we probably out number the ANA and have a much better member website! Sad really, that the leading club in our hobby has grown into a mess of lawsuits, thefts of museum articles and old folks (hey I resemble that) with little growth today. That needs to change!

Well, well, well, Laura Sperber was elected to the 2013-2015 ANA Board of Governors yesterday. She was the last (by total votes) of the seven successful candidates for Governor to be elected to the new ANA Board. Congratulations to Walter Ostromecki, elected President of the Board, Jeff Garrett, elected Vice President, and to Scott T. Rottinghaus, Dr. Ralph W. Ross, Mike Ellis, Greg Lyon, Jeff Swindling, and Laura Sperber, on their election to the ANA Board of Governors. They all certainly have their work cut out for them.

It's nice to see - for us, the ANA members, not for ANA itself - Laura get elected. Quote:The ANA really needs to step up it's member base and online presence. Just look at what Mom & Dad have created here at CCF - with help of the CCF members we probably out number the ANA and have a much better member website! There's more than a grain of truth in that. CCF's membership roll is (technically) significantly larger than ANA's, and more unique individuals have posted here at CCF in the last year than voted in the election. Almost two thousand different people in the last two months alone, and an equal number have reached 100 posts here. Almost 300 of you have 1000 posts or more. And none of you will ever, ever catch jbuck's post count.

She's a legend in her own mind. Too bad for the ANA.
