I just noticed that someone reviewed the NCLT version of Devil's Brigade silver coin at the mint's website, and pointed out that "D路G路REGINA" is missing on the obverse.

According to wiki:

Canadian coins minted from 1902 until 1910 under King Edward VII read "D. G. Rex Imperator" which is Latin for "By the Grace of God, King and Emperor". The "Dei Gra" portion was removed temporarily from Canadian coinage in 1911 and led to such a public uproar over the "godless" coins, that it was returned to Canadian coinage in the subsequent year. From 1912 to 1936, under George V, it read "Dei Gra Rex Et Ind Imp" which stands for Dei Gratia Rex et Indiae Imperator which means "By the Grace of God, King and Emperor of India". From 1937 to 1947 under the reign of George VI, it read either "Dei Gra Rex Et Ind Imp" as before or was abbreviated "D. G. Rex Et Ind Imp". From 1948 to 1952, still under George VI, after the confederation of India, they read "Dei Gratia Rex". From 1952 until 1964, it read "Dei Gratia Regina" under Queen Elizabeth II. From 1965 onwards, it was abbreviated on all coins to the current phrase of "D. G. Regina".[1]

Can you think of any non-bullion RCM coin that don't have "D路G路REGINA"?

okay, I am answering my own question... just checked some older coins and quickly found some released around 2005 don't have "D路G路REGINA" either... and in the recent months, those that use the young Queen effigy don't have that either....

The 2010 Olympic 25c coins didn't have it either. But, that was because there was a special obverse, so it was design decision.

This is a pretty major detour from the standard obverse, with no reason.

Hoping to sell to Americans and their D.G. sensibilities?

How about the 1973 Olympic coins?
Was there an earlier godless NCLT?

Other early godless NCLT were '77,'78,'82 and '84 silver dollars.

As folks have been posting, NCLT issues without "D G Regina" are more numerous than you might expect. Here are a few more to add to those already provided:

- 1988 Calgary Olympics ($20 silver coins)
- 1998-2009 Chinese Lunar Calendar series ($15 silver coins with gold-plated cameo)
- 2006-2007 National War Memorials series ($30 silver coins)
- 2010-2021 Current Lunar Lotus series (scalloped silver $15 coins)

There's a bunch more across all of the denominations the RCM has issued. Too many to list.
