Though I am a fairly new poster on the board I have been lurking here for a long time. I have started to notice that many of the good posters are now seemingly gone. Two come to mind off the top of my head, Ed B and throwbackid. Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the content has gone by the waste side to all this negative PM sentiment? I miss the days of pictures of huge stacks of silver and gold.

TBK is fine I talk to him often and still buy pm from him etc.....
Ed B on the other hand I am not sure on he just seemed to dissapear about 6 months back or so and have not heard anything from him since....
He was retired and getting on up there in years so I to hope he is well....
He always had very interesting insight on the market and pmz in general and was beyond patient so I doubt if he is indeed still with us if he moved out of pmz as much the opposite I would be expecting him to be buying as much as possible....

Life throws a curve ball from time to time. Hopefully our missing members are doing otherwise okay. Still, I too miss some of the strong and wise voices that helped make Coin Community such a great destination for discussion and advise.
A few months after I originally joined CCF, we lost BigFred. Perhaps SilverHawk74 will read this and share some comments. When our best members leave us, whatever the reason, it leaves a real void that's hard to fill.

Yea a topic called "Pictures of your Silver and Gold collection" would be cool.

That has been attemted a few times. People are reluctant (like me) to make anything such so public. Especially when we trade & have other's addresses. But I like such pics. Let 'er rip!

The most important thing is to strip the metadata from any photos you post. It's pretty boneheaded to post a picture of your PM stash that includes your GPS coordinates in the file. I know it's convenient, but I'd NEVER use a smart phone to take coin photos for this very reason. Use an old school digital camera and you avoid most of your potential problems.
EDIT: Sorry OP for straying off topic.

TBK had a problem following the rules and was frequently getting his posts either removed or edited. Finally after about the 10th time trying to buy against the rules he took his PMs and went home.

I am still around, just riding out the storms (both figurative and literally) and traveling hither and yon to visit my granddaughters. The newest one is one month old and we just got to see her this last week. PMs are valuable but my grandbabies take precedence over everything else.

Semi-off-topic
Since someone brought up cellphones and pictures, yesterday the kids were becoming squirrelly. Because of the weather, they had been couped up in the house for the last three days.
The cure: I went down to the bank and bought a box of quarters. So me and to of the kids are at the table sorting quarters when I look up to see my wife with her cell phone taking pictures. Knowing what she was about ready to do, the following conversation took place:
Me: You're not posting those on Facebook, are you? DW: Yeah, I was going to put "Here's what they do when they are bored." Me: I don't want any pictures with us collecting coins on Facebook. The least amount of people who know were have coins in the house the better. [Thinking, but not saying: Especially your brother] DW [rolling her eyes]: OK

Well, you can keep your facebook private so that only your confirmed "friends" can view your pictures. Also, there is a difference between sorting some quarters and doing an inventory on your entire hoard.
I see no harm in sharing a picture of you sorting some quarters with the grand children, but its a good idea to think twice about posting pictures online. Once they are on the internet, they will never come down.
