I'm not sure if it's ancient or not. I'm sure either Chris or Anoob would have an idea. Nice coin.

I have one of these coin types. Mine is similar but 11g good silver. I would assume yours is as Chris suspected a modern world coin. My guess would be 1650-1800 AD. The welded eye would significantly reduce the value of the coin. Unless it is an exceptional condition or an unusual type these coins can be had in the sub $40 range. With the ring It can't be worth much more than melt of the metal. I will see if I can find an exact match for your coin. Outside of a few numbers and key words I can't read Persian / Arabic. I will see what I can comeup with.

Hi All,

Big thanks for great and helpfull directions,
I did research again based on informations from all of you.

What I found as close to match is:

1 Rupee. Year: AH 1307 (1890 CE).
Weight: 8.98g.(my coin is bit heavier, weight of eyes)
Metal: .800Ag.
Diameter: 21 mm.
Mint: Kabul.
Edge: Plain.
Alignment: Medal, but slightly rotated.
Obverse: Name of the ruler with date below on the left side.
Ruler: Emir Abdur Rahman Khan ibn Muhammad Afzal Khan ibn Dost Muhammad Khan.
Minted Years: AH 1297-1308.

Note:
Date AH1297 has been observed struck over an British India 1876 1/4 Rupee, probably a mint sport.
(interesting that if is propably mint sport, is good reason for mounted eye?)

Source: from Afghanistan coins database

Thanks

Tomas

It's KM-544.1, AR Rupee, Kabul. Dated 1302 H (slightly blundered). Reignal year shown is blundered - Showing as 23 - not uncommon for these late crude issues. Abdur Rahman, 1297-1319 H.
The coin is shaved down and has what looks like a test mark on the side, which along with the mount detract from the value. Nice as a pendant though.
