I made it to Ottawa this year, and the RCM was doing an event where you could strike your own medallion. For effect, they used an actual die that was lifted over the planchet and then dropped via a hand-crank you turned yourself. Unfortunately, this meant that the dies had to be simple, as the strike pressure wasn't very high. The planchets hadn't

Sorry about the cutoff, Internet is spotty and my mobile device is too stupid to edit posts :( I can't get pictures, but... It's copper, no rim, side one has an incuse maple leaf made of individual lines with 2013 and side two has bilingual Royal Canadian Mint. It comes in a free fuzzy bag with new RCM logo. The planchets are about nickel-sized.
