Hello all. Today I was going through my Lincoln Cent collection with my new loupe hoping to find any varieties I may have missed when I didn't own a loupe. Using my 5th edition Cherrypicker's Guide as reference, I stumbled upon what I believe and hope is a "1928-S Large S Mintmark" variety. I would appreciate it if someone here could take the time to check if my coin is an example of this variety and possibly provide a grade. I would also like to know if the small dents on the obverse of the coin are so significant as to classify the coin as "damaged" or non-gradeable. The Fivaz-Stanton Number (FS) listed by the Cherrypicker's Guide for this variety is FS-01-1928S-501. Thank you in advance for your time today.
I added some pics. of mine to compare with if you like. VG grade and I listed it as an FS 1-013.6 Maybe my FS number is an older one. Not sure. Not really worth enough of a premium to have it certified so the damage on your coins obverse is not that significant one way or another.
Indian1 thank you for your pictures, it is greatly appreciated. I'm 99% sure mine is also a Large S but I am not an expert. Do you think it is? and if so, how much do you think it's worth considering the damage? Thank you!
