It's a State Quarter. Between 1999 and 2008 the mint made five states a year. Then, since DC residents are such whiners, they made coins for DC and the territories in 2009. Now they are minting quarters with national parks.

The other date is the year that the state entered the union.

Sean, please chill. If you found a common Caribbean coin and wanted to know more about it, I'd expect you'd want a kinder response.

I'm sure the rangers were feeling left out.

OldSkoolMadSkilz: There is nothing wrong with Sean the Coin collector's first reply. It answered the OP's question with a simple, factual statement.

I think OSMS was alluding to the OP's other identical threads.

They are not identical threads: one asks for info about a Bicentennial Quarter, another asks its value, this third asks about a New Mexico Quarter.

This Quarter is a very common item in U.S. circulation, and has no numismatic premium.

So it is not considered a "collectible coin" in the United States, but in the Netherlands Antilles it would have some "curiosity" value, especially if found in local circulation.
