Okay so I found an auction on ebay for x amount of 1957 $1 silver certificates.

Ive been wanting to expand my currency collecting more and more recently and I am always on the bay looking for new additions to my collections.

Out of this lot, there are 9 total consecutive $1 silver certs that I found. I don't think the seller realized this as they are pictured all scattered around with a couple other $1 bills.

I am currently winning the auction at $17 shipped, not too much action on it. The problem is, some of the bills appear to be stained a bit. So it might be a coin toss.

On another note, I was bidding aggressively on this..

I really, really, really wanted that sucker and I am kicking myself now that I didn't bid higher. I am clueless on the value of that but a mint condition, star, silver certificate, low serial radar must be worth a pretty penny.

Unless x is way above 10, don't go any higher on the SS, even though they are consecutive. On the second lot, yeah go ahead and kick yourself.

Ugh I knew it.. What do you think a value on that 57 star note is?

I don't see the star as being especially valuable. It isn't a true radar. The serial number isn't especially low. Now if you like those things, then you missed out, but it definitely wasn't a great buy.

No don't kick yourself, on review I now concur with nationals. I was putting away some '35 SS before I replied and I must of had them on my mind. At the selling price a '57 star isn't such a great deal. However I do like the serial number even though it is 4 digits and most serial number collectors consider 3 digits as the most allowed to be considered a low # note.

As a collector, I probably would have bid up to that level, but no higher.
