A parcel from a forum member TokenMast dropped through my door with a dredded yellow note on it - 'CUSTOMS EXAMINATION'. Eesh, those guys can be pretty vicious at times. Charged me VAT on a package once - cost me £9 - 92p of fees and £8 admin fee.

Anyway, seems to be alright here. Heres the lowdown:

A $2 bill - I like the back of these things. Anyone else out there willingt o help me get US paper money, drop me a line. I'm on the lookout for nice notes (Silver Certificate or hawaii anyone?). Also, any clue what all the numbers mean?

The afforementioned silver dollar - nicely toned, some light scratches probably from dunderheaded Royal mail employers but that doesn't matter because, and look away now serious collectors - I hold my silver dollars by the faces. (Its an 1890-O). I now have a Peace and Morgan dollars from California and with this addition, a morgan from Oregon. Anyone from the 48 other states interested in trading?

The cents. Fun bonus coin, a really nice 1909! The other coins were 1930,31,32,33. This makes my Wheat cent set much closer to completion and makes it time to start the LMC collection off. I made a fun spreadsheet too detailing my haves and dont haves.

Well the Morgan is from the New Orleans mint in Louisana NOT Oregon, Oregon never had a US Mint, there were some private gold coins minted there but that's about it as far as coinage in the US in the state of Oregon.

Morgan dollars were only minted in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania ( no mint mark) San Fransisco, California (S), New Orleans, Louisiana (O), Carson City, Nevada (CC). They were also produced in Denver in 1921 (D). Peace dollars were minted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ( no mint mark) and Denver (D), and San Fransisco (S).

The cents are cool and a good addition to a date collection of Lincoln cents. Examine that 1909 cent for doubling on the Liberty motto and date, the doubled dies have a premium attached to them. Look for varieties that could add a premium to their value. These look lightly to heavily circulated, but all still neat and a part of our US history!

Not an expert on paper currency so I'll let others chime in on that piece.

Nice lot you've picked up there, Ben!

Speaking of a Peace dollar, I don't think I saw you show off the lot I sent you.
