Here is another Baltimore pickup, just because I wanted to provide you with endless weekend entertainment.

This is a contemporary counterfeit 2 Real. Thanks for looking.

A true piece of Americana, but any idea where this was made?

Although I'd not before encountered one of these in my travels, it's not all that surprising to hear that this smaller denomination was counterfeited; this, considering their extensive circulation as a staple currency, worldwide.

Comparable size, I presume? What's the weight? Does it have a ring to it?

Have you determined Kleeberg attribution yet? Do you have the Baltimore C4 auction catalog from last year. Dave Wnuk sold his hoard, many are not imaged though. They are fascinating little coins and I'd imagine a fairly large percentage were counterfeit in circulation.

I have not made any Kleeberg attribution. I also do not have the C4 auction catalog.

I know these things can be quite valuable but I have not yet determined what features of these particular coins make them valuable (or not valuable) for that matter. I do know that the crudely designed examples seem to always be worth some decent money.
