I know this sounds crazy, but I am a fan of the TV show Survivor. I enjoy collecting different types of coins. So, I thought how about collecting a coin from each place they film a Survivor show.

Puala-Tiga
Australia
Kenya Africa
Marquesas
Thailand
Amazon
Pearl Islands
Panama
Vanuatu
Palau
Guatemala
Panama
Fiji
China (next season)

Do you know of anyone who can help me find a coin from each location? I don't really care if its scratched or the type of denomination etc...Just something that I can make a display....I'm not sure how to start....

Any suggestions?

thanks

First I would Google the names of the more obscure locations. The Vanuatu site for example gives you information such as what currency is used on the islands.

Well if you are crazy for liking Survivor, then so am I. It is one of the few shows that I actually watch every week when it is running. Cool idea with getting a coin from each of the location!

Rest in Peace

Nothing wrong with your idea at all. I never would of thought of it!

My wife and I have visited about 12 foreign countries, and have coins from each one.

I haven't really watched Survivor, but your idea is a neat one.

You'll be able to find most of these countries fairly easily and most you can get from some of us. I'd research the currency and see what you want from each one. All dollars as an example.

Puala-Tiga - I have no clue what this is
Australia - easy to get
Kenya - easy to get
Marquesas is part of French Polynesia I think...easy to get
Thailand - easy to get
Amazon is Brazil mainly...easy to get
Pearl Islands - I believe is owned by Panama - easy to get
Panama - easy to get
Vanuatu - easy to get
Palau - little harder. Doubt you'll find a good coin under $20-$25
Guatemala - easy to get
Fiji - easy to get
China - easy to get

A lot of Aussies go on holidays to Vanuatu, so you may find someone down under who can help you with that one. I also remember getting a few Fijian coins in my change when I lived in Sydney, too.

Pulau Tiga was in Malaysian Borneo, so you should have no trouble getting Malaysian coins.
