Hi guys I'm new to the forum so sorry if its in the wrong place or something... I just wanted to ask if anyone knew anything about these coins that I have. I don't remember where I got them. They're condition isn't very good. There's a picture of a balance with what I think is a heart on one end. I have 3 of them. Please take a look. Thanks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/98660612@N04/

It looks more like some form of token, what does the other side look like and is the brown stuff curd or rust?

It's not a coin that I recognize. It might be a token of some kind, or perhaps a weight intended for use on a balance. Is there anything on the other side?

Looks like it's plated with something that's flaking off. I see a radiant liberty cap above the scales.

Sorry the other side has flaked off and the camera cant get a good shot. I think we either found it in the grand canyon or on a trip in Europe... Any idea what's it for?

I believe you may have three of these because they are Mexican "recuerdo matrimonial" tokens, traditionally presented in a box of 13 called an "arras." Here are some interestingly similar examples. Check out "d."

So I would bet Grand Canyon rather than Europe!

OK, not Mombasa, which is what I think of whenever somebody says "balance scales".
