There's something going on at the bottom of the bust and I can't figure out what it is. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's kind of driving nuts because it looks different depending upon how the light hits it.

You're right, depending on the pic I go from thinking it's a die crack to thinking it's a lamination problem. I hope the experts will chime in soon, I'm curious to see what it is.

Here are some more photos.

It's starting to give me a headache.

From one angle it seems to be a thin line and then from another angle it looks like a piece of copper got ripped off the cent.

Looking at your new pics,it looks like a die crack. I might call it a pre-cud die crack. Has anyone seen a Cud that would match this coin?

It just occurred to me that it is a long thin crack with a spot of damage that just happens to be nearby making it look like they had something to do with each other but maybe it's just a coincidence.

What I (now) think might just be damage seems to disappear depending upon the angle and the way the light hits it. But it looks fairly substantial at other times.
