I'm not sure what company originally slabbed it but it was done years ago by my wife's grandfather. It was cracked and broken so I took it out and that was back in the 90's. Yes it is a scan.
edit: I think it may have been PCGS but don't hold me to it.
I should have left it in there but I may re-submit it.

My Mother-in-law wants to sell it (against my better judgement) And I told her that while it is an EFO it's an extremely limited market. Since there has been some controversy over it's legitimacy I would like to know where I could send it to have it authenticated. I figure at least if she does sell it it will take away any doubt of any speculative buyer. Where would I send this and what would it cost? Since I'm a collector and not a seller I wouldn't even know where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. The slab it was in (before I unceremoniously removed it) was done years ago (like 10+) and not by me. I've never sent anything in to be graded/authenticated before and so I don't know how to do it. What, how & who would you advise?

So you took it out of a PCGS slab and now you want to pay $50 or so to reslab it? Its a lam so why pay a TPG to you what you already know. I see no more than a $20 coin there.

ICCS is the best answer it is cheeper and the coin is small enough that the package wont open over time.

It is a legit lamination. Thanks for the extra images. You can see where the lamination was peeling away and now placed in a different alignment.

This doesn't need to be slabbed, it's not worth it for this type of error. You're much better off just selling it raw, people will know what it is.

I told her that there is a very limited market for EFO's and not to get her hopes up. It could sell for pennies or a few hundred all depending on if there is more than one interested party in the crowd that REALLY wants it..lol and has deep pockets. I just figured that if I sent it in and slabbed it there would be no question as to it's legitimacy and may be easier to unload. I'm a stamp collector so I know first hand that people think they hit the lottery when they find something like this but I really have no idea on a starting price for something this obscure. Any thoughts as to what this could bring at auction? My thoughts was about 50-100 optimistically what do you think? Any advice would be helpful. Also no disrespect intended to razorear (as I intend to hang around the form a bit ) but you obviously didn't read my post in it's entirety. Respectfully -Jeff edit II: I just noticed the 20.00 price quoted. Does seem about right or is that a (your a newb and I'll set you straight post?)

Sorry...sorry...lol last post. After browsing some online auction sites I see that these are relatively easily obtainable but I bet I could squeak $40.00 out of it to the right guy. What do you think?
