I have an 1833 Hesse-Cassel two(2) Heller German coin, can't find a thing in the world coins book 5th edition. does anyone have any info on this coin, such as the current values for Fine, Very Fine and Extra Fine? Have also looked the Austrian area and nothing. It has the same exact markings as the 1814 Hesse-Cassel 2 Heller, KM-561 and 1816, 1818 & 1820 KM-564.....Not a thing for 1833. Thx, Mike

For 1833 Hesse-Cassel 2 hellar it should have Wk monogram and would be Km#589
It is hard to tell without a picture it could be a spiel mark or a jetton too

Scoutjim99, thanks for your info. I have the 5th Edition of World Coins and there is no KM-589 showing for this coin. It has what you describe and looks exactly just like the 1814 in the book. But this is an 1833. Which book, edition and page are you finding this info? Here are two photos of the coin. Thx, Mike Image: 2heller-a.jpg32.08 KB Image: 2heller-b.jpg34.07 KB

I have seen Krause books leave out a coin or 2 here and there. I'd check the 4th edition.
Sap should be along shortly to answer this riddle.

I saw the pics but I don't know enough about the various city states of the 1800's And I don't have the 1800's book so I can't be of much help. And I'm serious...if Sap can't give you a clear answer with a complete history lesson then I'll melt down all my coins and build me a new car.

Sorry I'm late... had a busy weekend.
As has been suggested, this is another example of later edition Krauses deleting coins which used to be present in earlier editions. It seems to have happened a lot back when they split the all-in-one volume into separate centuries.
I just checked on NumisMaster and this coin is completely gone from their database.
