Moved to the Main Coin Forum for better exposure

Welcome to the forum pmlmal. Interesting question, and tough to answer. It seems like they are still commanding quite the premium on ebay. I've noticed ungraded sets still going for $500+ in many places.

Regardless, welcome. Tell us a little about yourself and what you like to collect. Browse the other forum threads around here at your leisure. The main coin forum holds a wealth of knowledge and would have been the more appropriate place for this question to see the most exposure for you.

Enjoy your time here. Very family friendly place here for sure.

Welcome to the forum pmlmal.

My guess is that the sets could reach around $700 by the end of the year, then decrease a little and sell for around $500 for the foreseeable future.

We only bought two sets, but sure happy to have them.

I love this game.

The raw set will be selling for $900.00 on 12/31/07. They will reach 700 buy the end of summer (Labor Day) and slowly climb to 900 throughout the fall/winter months.

It really depends on which set you are talking about. Either the raw set, a graded 69 set or a graded 70 set. The 70 set is going for almost $1,800 on ebay right now. The other two are in the $500 to $600 range right now. I think they will continue to increase, but I don't think they will go up nearly as fast as they already have. And, we may see a drop off before they continue to go up.

You guys really think they will go up again? They were hitting $570-$600 a week ago but since then they are getting about $525-$535. Is it normal to drop off then climb again?

They will increase. I have 5 sets to drop once they reach $1,000.00. Hopefully, that will come before the end of the year.

I only have one set and will never sell it, but it is nice to know it has gained in value over the years.

I think there is still a lot of hype on these coins. I think we may see fluctuations in these sets over the next couple of years, but long term I can't see how they won't be very valuable. There are only 250,000 of these sets, many of which can not get the black 20th anniversary stickers because they have been opened.

What will be interesting to see is all the people holding onto the unopened sets right now and when they decide to send them in to be graded. This will change the census of the sets, which may affect the price. But with all the new Eagle collectors coming on board these last few years, and the future collectors as well, I think the demand will out-pace any additional sets that are graded. And some people want them ungraded, so the demand for those should be good as well.

I will be glad to take one of these off your hands for you. I have a very nice Washington dollar for trade. It's at least MS65....
