Just wondering if the rest of you feel the same as I do about this wonderful hobby.... Not only has it put silver in my possession at FACE VALUE...I only started CRH about 2 months ago and have already searched 250,000 pennies and 250,000+ Nickels! And that is no joke I am doing minimum 4 boxes of nickels DAILY and was doing 4 boxes of pennies daily till I got my job at the coin store a few weeks back and no longer had the time to search 8 boxes a day... Long Story short, CRH has lead me down a path of mass amounts of Silver Hoarding at ridiculously lower than spot prices and not only is it profitable but it is more fun than anything I can think of.... Happy hunting everyone Hope ya'll find the sweet boxes full of treasure! :) Edited by DenverNRG 07/18/2013 6:17 pm

Getting paid in Morgan dollars is an interesting idea. Might I ask how many hours you work per day?

CRH is a fun hobby and at the end of the day you end up with the same amount of money you started with -- if not a bit more in value. :-)

Takes me too much time to go through 1 box of pennies to look for variations and sort everything. It takes me an evening to look at every coin in the box, flip it to check the reverse then grab the loupe to look for discrepancies.
The time will get better as I progress my knowledge but I still hate dealing with tellers to get a box.
The regular tellers couldn't care less, but the head teller. . ugh, gives me a hard time. Funny thing, she tells me I cant give you one box today but come back tomorrow and i'll have one for you, ugh, we're only talking about 1 box. lolol
Its basically, that box is heavy and I don't feel like going into the vault right now, especially at closing time lol. so whatever.
My bank is always empty, and employees are laughing and enjoying themselves, and it irritates me sometimes when they can't give me a box or two.
Anyway, I recently found this vending machine that gives back dimes for change so every now and again I take 10 bucks and press return change. I get some dimes to search. Wish my bank could handle these transactions as easily.

Quote: I work generally 10-5 Mon-Sat... No minimum wage in your state? I do not believe the IRS would agree with your assumptions....

At the rate you're getting boxes you will destroy it for others. Back off a bit or they'll shut you down and everybody else along with you.

I work strictly on commission, not hourly wages which is 100% legal.... What do you think the door to door vacuum salesman work on... Commission only

I assume you must be a teenager working a summer job or something, because while working for Morgan dollars is great, it really isn't practical if you need to support a household. However, if I was collecting as a teen it would be an awesome arrangement. I also caution you on the amount of CRH you are doing too. It is relatively easy to vacuum an area dry by hunting at that rate, plus you don't want to anger the cashiers. They are the gatekeepers to the rolls and must be respected. When I first started CRH I wore out my welcome at one of the closest banks to my place because I got a little too greedy. In order to keep this hobby going for everyone we need to be able to share the spoils. Not trying to be mean, just saying is all.

Oh don't worry bout my CRH amount.... 1 I am right in Denver so the federal reserve is a stones throw away so more coins flow through this area than say little towns or even big towns far away from the federal reserve 2 the tellers seriously LOVE me... I bring em doughnuts weekly and they are ALL super flirty with me and LOVE seeing all my awesome finds IE blank planchets, V nickels, Buffalos, foreigns etc, 3 even if I "anger" a cashier who cares... There's like a bajillion banks here in Denver and in most cases it doesn't even effect my route because there are like 3 banks on one corner generally lol Just to inform you also I am in my 30's and I have other means of support in the forms of investments and trust funds the morgans are a bonus and like I said if I ever feel I will need some extra cash I can sell one or more of them easily in 48 hours or less... People buy these things up like candy lol

Denver, what you are working for is the silver value, you should be filing your taxes based off that, not the face value. If you get audited, they will slap you down and straighten you out with some heavy fines and penalties. Also, your employer is breaking the law by paying you like that as it means you and him are not paying into SS, MediCare, SUI, and all the other federal programs.
You'd be smart to take some advice from others here... it doesn't matter if the tellers love you, I learned that the hard way. The tellers don't call the shots, upper management does, and upper management doesn't give two craps about a bunch of entry-level rank and file employees, their job is to protect the bottom line, and you are detrimental to that end. With that said, going to 14 banks a week is nothing, and only ordering at 4? There is no way anybody will clean out an area ordering at that rate. I was ordering 40+ boxes of halves a week (and halves don't circulate) and still finding silver. With a denom that actually sees circulation, you would have to move through probably 100+ boxes a week to make a real dent.
