Hi, Years ago my Grandad gave my Grandma a coin and told her to keep hold of it,

My Grandma did and yesterday when I was looking through old medals and coins of another grandfather, my mother mentioned my grandma had this coin and was never able to find out what it was.

I got hold of the coin today to try and find out for her, basically for curiosity.

If anyone can help me that would be wonderful, as I cant find anything on it. Thanks!

MathieuMa is correct, Definitely Tibet. Unfortunately they are not easy to fully identify for me.
I have a similar shaped one, but in Silver from 1909 and a religious event.

Seems like DCH got it !
Your coin is really beautiful, I like that unusual design (unusual for me) very much.
It's perfectly struck, and has a beautiful patina :)
