Hello, I am in my seventies and am not that experienced with coin photography. I have done some research and it looks like the following features would be very helpful
I am looking to buy a PS camera for coin photography.Preferably for $300 or less. I have purchased the USB camera featured in the "I just got my USB camera!"topic. I am waiting for the stand mentioned in the topic to be delivered.

I am interested in buying a camera that has the following features:
a) Capable of recharging without battery removal.
b) A remote switch for snapping pictures.Does this exist for PS cameras?
c) Capable of viewing the image on my computer before snapping.Does this exist for PS cameras?
d) Macro settings
e) Wide angle This would be the least important.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

To get you started on the right path, I know both Canon and Nikon Point and Shoots have models with remote (although you usually have to buy the remote separate for about $25). As far as displaying on a monitor... I know DSLR's (I know you stated you dont want that) that I have had in the past support that feature, and even remote shutter from the computer for that matter. Maybe someone can chime in if a Point and Shoot is capable of that. The remote you mentioned is easy. As far as Macro, I would find a store or shop where you can test the cameras once you narrow it down. Macro is most important to me, and cameras with the same specs on paper have behaved severely different when it comes to Macro photography. Some were plain horrible. Some were almost as good as my DSLR!
Rest in Peace

My obsolete Canon A620 can be operated from my computer. I am told that the newer P&S Canons do not have this feature.
