Anyone have any idea as to how much it would be worth?

It peeled after striking. Nice find.
Still attached. Don't remove it. Keep it original. Cleaning will not increase value, but would probably hurt it as the peel may fall off.

I thought that acetone did not harm patina or metal on coins. Is this not true? Theres dozens of threads I've seen about it on here.

Acetone should not affect the patina.

I'd leave it alone. What you do with it now may affect what the coin will suffer in the future.

Since no one came out with a value and I couldn't find anything Googling Franklin laminations for a reference I figured I would start high and reduce next time rather than leave money on the table if I listed it at $1 and had no one looking for it. Since there is no insertion fee all I am out if it doesn't sell is 7 days of my time babysitting the auction. As to the $8.50 shipping USPS will not insure first class packages. By the time I pay $5 for Priority postage and $1.50 or whatever it costs for insurance plus the 13% ebay and Paypal will take on the shipping I will be close to the $8.50. Not looking to rip anyone off but not looking to walk away pennyless. And yes I gave it an Acetone soak as there was some green discoloration (not sure if it was PVC or not) around the text on the obverse. I did find this one this morning that was ending today but the seller ended the listing early. If it doesn't sell and someone is interested shoot me an offer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINT-ERROR-...p=true&rt=nc

I dont think anyone was sayin that you were looking to rip people off. just higher than normal prices. Not that there is really a normal price for error coins. Eacb one is different. Your tactic of starting high and then going lower makes great business sense, especially seeing how that other auction went. PM sent.

You can do a bubble mailer and tracking for a 1.69 or just do free shipping.
