Wondering what the grade for this would be....sorry for the not-perfect pics, I'm still trying to master the art of coin photography

Hard for me to grade, maybe vf-30?

I think you need a little larger photo with it removed from the coin capsule. If its slabbed disregard that last comment.

Try cropping the photo and taking the pictures directly overhead. Picture too small, but it looks VF/EF.

VF but number grade can not be determined by these photos.

Looks to be barely VF20. Not sure if it's just the picture, but the VDB is suspect, it's normally quite strong on the SVDB. I would get it slabbed, well worth the cost and trouble.

Yeah..with the larger pics.. VF-20.. you posted just a 1909S, I can see a faint VDB on the reverse witch looks very faint to me.

Did you know, there was a faint VDB on the reverse?, please give a close up of that if you will.

Well, this just got interesting...so does the fact that part of the VDB has worn off affect the value?

I hope someone didn't try to scratch off the V.D.B
Here are the four obverse dies/mintmark positions for the 09-S VDB

The obverse definitely looks genuine, I just question what the deal is with the VDB. Zooming in, I can see a faint V.D, whereas the .B. is more prominent. How do you suppose this affects the value? And why would the VD be so faded?

there is a high probability that this is a type 4 obverse. as to how it affects value not sure. I would think if its authenticated by a TPG it should not affect value but I'm not 100% certain of that.I agree with BadThad, barely VF20

here is your alignment
