Found this while just doing a regular coin search.
There is a raised ring of metal starting at roosevelts forehead down to a little past his nose and then picks up again at the back bottom of his neck up to the tope of the back of his hair crown..
It is minted and clad that way, the back of the coin is perfectly fine so it is not an indention of any kind pushed through.. Just an extra ring of raised metal.

What type of error would that be? Planchet I'm guessing? And what might the value be?

I cannot find any documented information on this error.

to CCF. No pro but looks like a worn die. Reverse pics would help. I am sure a pro will chime in soon.

The reverse of the coin has no defects at all. But I will add some if needed.

The die is aging. Note the outside edge of the devices, how they are fading. The die is also over polished. But the halo around it, not sure of what that is. Even a clash wouldn't cause that? If the coin was heated, it makes the metal raise in areas. But I don't see the burnt look from the images.

The raised field is a manifestation of Die Deterioration.
