I am working on learning varieties, and I believe this to be a 1941 large S dime. Am I correct in my evaluation?

Yes.
Here's a clip from CPG for comparison.
Its easy to find in lower grades, its the ones in EF or higher that's harder.

And 43 S Trumpet Tail S (large S) is 100 times harder to find.
