St Gaudens Gold Double Eagle Question

Frazzle Pillar of the Community United States 505 Posts	Posted 07/26/2013 8:01 pm I have a 1923 St Gaudens Double Eagle I need to sell...It is Graded MS 62 By PCI and is in the OLd Green Holder....How much should I expect to get from my local dealer when I sell? APMEX is offering to pay about $1390 for AU common date coins if you can meet the $10000 min to get that price. Goldmart is offering about $1333 for EF/AU and Provident metals nearly $1400 for AU or better. Report this Post to the Staff

Spot Value is actually a price per troy ounce. The current Melt Value is the Spot Price ($1333) X Actual Gold Weight in troy ounces (0.967) = $1290. I would guess a local dealer would offer you less than melt value. If the coin actually is MS62 then it's wholesale value is $1400 to $1450 today. ANA #R3154474 Report this Post to the Staff
