This brass medal/pendant came with a job lot of metal detector finds. Butcan't find anything anout it, despite it having a lot of inscriptions. Like Olivieri, Caritas (Latin for Charity) Di Paola, and S. Francesco. Also the JHS is quite common for Jesus as is the latin inscription on the back. Other than that, would like to know what it is medal, pendant ort part of rosary.
Thanks in advance.

OK, so this is a Catholic religious medal, meant to be worn on a chain.

The obverse depicts St. Francis of Paola, otherise known as "Francis the Fire-Handler", founder of the "Order of Minims" or Franciscan Hermits. "Olivieri" would be the maker.
The reverse inscription signifies "At the name of Jesus every knee shall bend".

If you want to know more about this type of thing, permit me to recommend An Introduction to European Religious Medals by Bob Forrest, published by Numismatics International.

Thanks Publius. I thought Olivieri might be the maker, but can't find anything, so must be private.
