This one's surfaces are butt ugly from too long in the ground I suspect. Must have been EF or better when buried and is a tough variety.

A very nice coin. Even in this condition, it is a tough one to find.

Nice looking coin despite the surfaces.
I see OBV6,large9,but the 2 doesn't look to be punched over a 1.
Is Charlton's wrong about this? Or is it evident in hand?

For all those who try to identify Victoria 10cent obverses using Charlton's catalogue.
Ignore all of the text concerning hair, eyelid, and ear details. These tend to be more confusing than helpful.
Instead look at the shape of the forehead, and the upper lip. These are distinct for each obverse variety. After half an hour of staring you'll be a pro.
I've discovered recently,(about a year ago)that Charlton's cannot mention these easy identification markers due to copyright issues.
