Hi guys! Got another! Ok, so this my 1909 VDB LWC. It has some funky greenish-black-brown stuff on the wheat ears so I am leaving it up to you guys to tell me a grade.

IndianGoldEagle, I looked at another Wheat cent of mine that was cleaned and this one has the mint luster so..... I really don't see what you mean! |

when copper comes in contact with a caustic substance such as an acid it may react and display the greenish characteristics your are seeing. even though it still may display some luster it looks like it may have had a light dipping at some point and reacted to it. not saying this is exactly what happened here but it could explain the color change you seeing and since it occurs on both sides this could be a possiblity

You are getting too much light on the coin making it difficult to get a read on it. However, the coin does appear to have been cleaned. The grains on the right wheat stalk have been flattened.

Well this sucks. Don't get too disappointed yet. When coin shots are blasted with light, it tends to cut through any patina making a coin look funky. Turn off the flash, use a desk lamp to light the coin (not too strong, not too weak) and retake the pictures. My opinion is based from your original pictures - it's all I have.
